FINAL NOTES!

Dear Kindergarten families,

We want to express our thanks for all your assistance as our partners in guiding your child through Kindergarten this year, where children truly learn "how to DO school".

Please remember that self-regulation is the key to effective learning and socializing. Please continue to work on this skill.

In order to maintain the progress your child has already made this year, please work on the following academic areas:

inquiryobservation, questioning, exploration, investigation, and research
- letter name and sound recognition; focus on beginning sounds
- numeral recognition (1-100) and values (including coins)
- high frequency sight words (called: "popcorn words" / "word wall words")
- fine motor printing skills (using plasticine, lego, painting, etc.)
- language structure, grammar, and articulation
(In a natural way repeat their words back to them in the correct format so they hear it.)

We look forward to seeing you for the first day of school, on the yard, TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 8th!

Have a safe and wonderful summer!
Sincerely,
The Kindergarten Teams - including:
Chris Blahout, Casey Bradley, Katrina Damiano,
Kathryn Unger, Christine Stuart, Christina McCready, Megan Holmes, Elizabeth Vesterfelt, Lisa Gordon and Natasha Belaire, Cathy Heer, Jennifer Carnegie, Rebecca VandenBosch, Cheryl McCleary, Jen Legari
