APRIL NEWS!

Dear Parents,
April brings forth discussions about Spring / Le Printemps, the symbol of new life and renewal. We will focus our attention on seasonal changes, Easter and plants.
Easter is the ultimate celebration for the Christian community. As Spring unfolds, life overcomes death, as reflected in all plant and animal life. Spring is so inviting for children to observe, explore and celebrate the signs of new life that are all around. In Science, we will examine life cycles (e.g. plant, butterfly) and investigate how to distinguish between living and non-living things.  We will also be experimenting with the concept of buoyancy at the water centre.

FRENCH vocabulary includes:
Spring/ printemps            April/avril             sun/ soleil          rain/ pluie

umbrella/ parapluie        flower/ fleur         egg/ oeuf          bird/ oiseau       nest/nid

butterfly/ papillon          rabbit/ lapin            chick/ poussin     new life/ nouvelle vie

 Easter/ Pâques       God/ Dieu          ladybug/ coccinelle           butterfly/ papillon

We would like to welcome some new staff-team members to Kindergarten. The new Early Childhood Educator with Red Group is Christine Stuart; she has replaced Mrs. Damiano in room 102.

Mrs. Belaire (in Green group) starts her maternity leave officially on April 10th. She has had to transfer to St. Anne 's temporarily due to 'Fifth's disease' being present in our school at this time. We are sad to say "Good-bye" but know she is excited to be a new mommy! We are very happy to welcome Mrs. Elizabeth Vesterfelt to room 104.

Mrs. Bradley (the English teacher for Red & Blue groups) is scheduled to begin her maternity leave on April 24th, in order to stay home with her toddler and new baby!  We welcome Mrs. Christina McCready to our Kindergarten team as the English teacher til June.

Please note that students are asked to keep any personal toys at home, but are allowed to bring in a stuffed animal to cuddle with at "Quiet Time". Thanks for any help in this regard.

We thank you again for your support. Have a wonderful Easter holiday weekend (Apr. 3 – 6) and we wish you all a happy Spring!

Sincerely,
Your Kindergarten Teams
