Recess is between 1:25 and 1:40 pm each day.
We almost had to have "indoor recess" due to inclement weather conditions but at the last moment, the rain stopped and we were able to go outside! (Hooray!) We do want parents to be aware that we may be outside if it is only a light rain so please always have your child dressed appropriately for the weather conditions.
(We discourage beach flip-flops due to injuries we have witnessed in the past.)
TOYS:In regards to toys that may be brought to school; we encourage toys that are explicitly meant for fun and fitness outside! Appropriate toys should get your child MOVING - running, skipping, building large and small muscles, as well as enhancing their coordination, and balance skills. Good examples would be a wide variety of balls, a frisbee, or skipping ropes.
Please do not permit your child to bring toys that limit movement or encourage sitting, such as a book, a DS, Pokemon cards, or stuffed animals.
*Remember too that this is a time to socialize with friends and practice those "conflict resolution" skills.*
